Recycle old, unwanted electricals

HITCHIN residents can recycle their old or unwanted IT equipment at an event this Sunday.

The ‘takeback’ event will be held in Woodside car park from 10am to 3pm.

North Herts Council is aiming to reduce the impact IT waste has on the environment by preventing it from being sent to landfill.

Computers, monitors, printers, games consoles, freeview boxes and MP3 players can be taken along and 85 per cent of the equipment collected will be refurbished and re-used.

The remaining 15 per cent will be broken down into different types of materials.
