International Women’s Day is being marked a month early at the Shuttleworth campus of Bedford College with a lunch arranged by the Bedfordshire Businesswomen’s Club on February 16.

The event next month was organised as a result of a unique cooperation between the college and the club.

Bedford College’s director of sales and marketing Sarah Baxter and the club’s chair Kerry Cash joined forces to help female entrepreneurs and employers to make the most of their businesses.

Sarah said: "I went along to a BBW lunch and was impressed by the women and the businesses they own or represent.

Kerry, well known as the leading light behind 5th Avenue hair and beauty studio, added: "I want this to be the best year ever for BBW and for its members."

The lunch will be held at Old Warden Park, Biggleswade, from 10am-2.30pm.

A table of 10 is £250 and can be booked via www.beds-businesswomen.org/  our-big-events.
