Court Round-Up: Baldock, Letchworth, Stevenage and Sandy

A BALDOCK man who drove a car without a licence or insurance whilst over the legal alcohol limit has been fined hundreds of pounds.

Jason Leeder, 26, of South Road, drove a blue Mitsubishi on April 3 in Jubilee Road, Letchworth.

Appearing at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on Monday last week he pleaded guilty to charges of driving without a licence, driving without insurance and driving whilst over the prescribed alcohol limit.

He was ordered to pay £385 in total and was also banned from holding or obtaining a licence for 12 months.

A STEVENAGE man who used threatening, insulting or abusive behaviour towards a woman must do 80 hours unpaid work.

Swaraj Kelsey, 57, of York Road, Stevenage, denied the offence from January 10 in Baldock, but was found guilty on March 21.

Appearing at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on Monday last week, he was ordered to pay £145 and complete 80 hours unpaid work.

A MAN who drove a vehicle on Stevenage High Street whilst over the prescribed limit for alcohol has been disqualified from driving.

Sandy resident Gary Humberstone, 25, of Winchester Road, drove a blue Vauxhall Astra whilst over the limit on April 7.

Having pleaded guilty to the charge, he appeared at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday, where he was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

He was also fined £110 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 as well as costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85.

A MAN charged with a Stevenage burglary has been remanded on bail.

Eraste Muaka, 18, from London, allegedly stole items after entering a property as a trespasser on October 31.

Last Wednesday at Stevenage Magistates’ Court, he was bailed until today (April 24).

A MAN charged with theft in Letchworth has been bailed.

Adam Brown, 31, of no fixed abode, was bailed until April 24 at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on Monday last week.
