Crowds turn out for Pancake Day fun

SHOPPERS in Hitchin town centre were treated to a flippin’ good time yesterday (Tuesday February 21) as the annual pancake races took place on the High Street.

Connar Reed from Top Marques and Debbie Bamberg from Raymond James won the respective men’s and women’s races.

Brian Lentz won the LV race while Cheryl Flory from Barclays and Claire Anderson from C&G won the two fancy dress races.

A team of firefighters won the men’s ‘best fancy dress’ award while a team of ladies from Hitchin Market won in the women’s fancy dress prize.

The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Hitchin Priory and raises money for good causes.
