A 4-year-old girl was seriously injured this morning (Monday, February 20) after being hit by a car in Biggleswade.
Paramedics were alerted to a report of a child trapped underneath a vehicle in Coppice Mead in the town just before 8.30am.
Due to the nature of the incident, the East Anglian Air Ambulance was dispatched to the scene alongside three land ambulance crews.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said girl was "very poorly" the arrival of paramedics.
"Following rapid treatment, stabilisation and immobilisation by land and air ambulance crews, she was flown direct to a specialist trauma centre at the Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridgeshire for further care,” he added.
A police spokeswoman said the condition of the girl is currently “serious but stable”.
