HALF TIME: Stevenage 0 Tottenham Hotspur 0

by Sue Webb
Stevenage have had by far the better of the first half in their fifth round FA Cup tie against Spurs at The Lamex Stadium. Boro have taken full advantage of the Premiership side's inability to settle or cope with the Broadhall Way pitch. As expected, Boro have played a direct game and have had chances as Carlo Cudicini looked vulnerable on several occasions in the Spurs goal. Chris Beardsley and Scott Laird both going close. Only Danny Rose has looked threatening for Spurs, with Jermain Defoe and Louis Saha both feeling the strength of Boro's centre backs Jon Ashton and Mark Roberts. Josh Byrom was booked for a reckless challenge on Scott Parker, but it was the only blot on an otherwise workmanlike performance.
