Air Cadets from Sandy returned from an action-packed camp with some silverware.
The 14 youngsters from 22 (Sandy) Squadron joined cadets from across Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire on the week-long trip to the Stanta Army Training Area in Norfolk.
The week included in bridge and raft building, abseiling, field craft training, first aid, orienteering, and a night exercise.
Cadet Corporal William Clubb and Cadet Ryan Elsby were part of D Flight, which was awarded best overall flight for the week, as well as the Orienteering exercise.
William said of the week: "As my first camp, it gave me a good insight as to what I can expect if I was to pursue a career in the forces. It was a really great week, and I met a lot of new people."
H Flight, lead by Cadet Flight Sergeant Kimberly Coates, along with Cadet Corporal Lauren Barton, Cadet Jack Hutchison and Cadet Marek Subocz-Schram, took the award for best performance on the night exercise.
Lauren said: "It was a physically demanding week, but nevertheless an extremely rewarding experience".
Sandy cadets also took awards for best female room and third for the male rooms.
Corporal William Phoenix spent his camp overseas at RAF Gibraltar.
He was able to see some of the various overseas units, such as the fire sections, dog unit, army bomb disposal, and 2 Overseas (Gibraltar) Squadron, to see what it’s like being an Air Cadet in Gibraltar.
