Witnesses sought after Stevenage attack

POLICE are appealing for a man and a woman who intervened in an assault in Stevenage to come forward.Police

The pair stopped an offender from causing further harm after he punched a man in the face in Harvey Road Chells.

The 19-year-old victim fell to the floor as a result of the attack, which occurred sometime between 5pm and 5.15pm on Monday February 6.

Police are appealing for the man and woman or any other witnesses to contact them, as they could help with this investigation.

DC Louise Burns, of Herts police, said: “This was a nasty assault on which has left the victim shaken.

“I am particularly keen to speak to a male and a female who intervened during the altercation to get in touch.

“Anyone with any information should call us as a matter of urgency.”
