Get free hot tips on energy in Uttlesford

A ONE-STOP shop for information and advice on energy bills has been set up by council chiefs.

Uttlesford District Council’s energy team has teamed up with the Citizens Advice Bureau and local insulation companies to help households bring down their costs.

A telephone hotline has been launched for people to speak to Uttlesford and Braintree Energy Advice Team about home insulation and the possibilities of cavity wall and loft insulation grants.

It could lead to some energy-saving improvements being provided free of charge, regardless of household income or age.

People who heat their homes using oil can also get information on setting up an ‘oil club’ with other users to bring down costs.

Call (01376) 552525 or email energyteam@ braintree.gov.uk.
