Use up your leftovers to win top prize
Calling all foodies, don’t miss out on the chance to be taught by acclaimed French chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.
As part of the North Herts District Council’s Love Your Leftovers campaign, residents are being offered the chance to win a day course at Jean-Christophe’s internationally acclaimed cooking academy in Tea Green, and be taught by the man himself.
The aim of the Love Your Leftovers campaign is to encourage residents to think about the amount of food wasted over the Christmas and New Year festivities and to come up with inventive ideas for using up their leftovers. To be in with a chance of winning, you must come up with your own creative leftover recipe.
Recipes entered into the competition will be judged on originality and creativity, whether the festive leftovers are easy to come by, how easy the recipe is to make, and whether it uses a full range of healthy ingredients. Entrants will also be given additional points if the recipe helps to save money. The closing date for entries is January 13, so get your thinking caps on!
Cllr Peter Burt, said: “Christmas and New Year is an expensive time for families and we hope that with a little inspiration from Jean-Christophe we can encourage people to come up with their own ideas for how to make best use of their leftovers. We are offering the competition winner a fantastic prize, so don’t delay getting your entries in.”
