PETER Donegan and The Lonnie Donegan Band will make their first appearance at Plinston, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, on Friday August 13.

Peter Donegan and The Lonnie Donegan Band
They were originally due to play there in April, but had to postpone, as they couldn’t get to the country because of the volcanic ash cloud.
Peter, son of the late Lonnie Donegan, is a talented musician and songwriter in his own right and has developed his own style.
In 2007, Peter performed on tour with Crystal Gayle on her British tour as her opening act and perfomed a song with Crystal during her set.
He has performed with a variety of musicians at The Sage, Gateshead, as a guest – Bill Wyman and his Rhytmn Kings, featuring Eddie Floyd, Albert Lee and Hogan’s Heroes.
He formed his own band, playing a mixture of material that Lonnie played, but in Peter’s own style and released a live album, The Elephant on the Tyne, developing a fanbase along the way.
Last year, Peter decided he wanted to take a different musical direction and joined force with the band that toured with the legend for the last 30 years.
So was born The Lonnie Donegan Band, featuring Peter Donegan, and they released an album last summer.
Those who saw Lonnie Donegan perform in his later years will instantly recognise the line-up of Paul Henry, Chris Hunt, Sticky Wicket and Eddie Masters.
Performing some of Lonnie's classics such as Putting On The Style, Have A Drink On Me and Rock Island Line, as well as some lesser-known recordings and combined with original numbers written by Peter, adds up to a great night of Skiffle, Blues and Jazz.
Support comes from DJ Strollin' Steve and dancing is until midnight.
Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced £12.50 advance or £15 on the door available from
www.plinston.com or the Plinston Box Office on 01462 672003.
