Youngsters can clown around at circus school
ROLL up, roll up for Bishop’s Stortford’s newest kids’ performing arts school, which has launched its first term with a circus theme.
London-based company Perform, which runs drama, dance and singing workshops across the capital, has set its sights outside the capital to open a new branch in town.
The venture, which works exclusively with four- to eight-year-olds, is not a serious stage school and does not send pupils to castings or auditions.
It uses the creative arts to develop what it calls “the 4 C’s”: confidence, communication, co-ordination and concentration. For its first term, activities will be themed around the circus, with games and skills including juggling and mime.
Principal Lucy Quick said: “We’re incredibly excited about opening in Bishops Stortford. It’s a creative area and we’ve found some fantastic local people to lead the workshops.”
Classes will be held every Saturday at All Saints Primary School in Parsonage Lane at 9.30am and 11.15am. Free trials are available and a £50 discount is on offer for a limited time.
