WINNER of BBC TV's prime-time show The One And Only, star of the West End musical Repect La Diva and former star of the stage production That'll be The Day, Katy Setterfield brings her much- loved Dusty Springfield solo show to Stevenage.
Packed with classic Dusty hits - including You Don't Have To Say You Love Me, Son Of A Preacher Man and I Only Want To Be With You – her brand new production for 2012 will feature Katy performing tracks by female greats including Annie Lennox, Cher, Tina Turner and Madonna.
An evening of world-class entertainment is assured at an outstanding night of music, non-stop fun and nostalgia with one of the UK's most popular and impressive singers.
In 2000, Katy auditioned as one of the female vocalists for the hugely successful touring show That'll Be The Day. Belting out a couple of Cher songs the gig was immediately hers and with it came the opportunity to hone her stagecraft.
Impersonations of Tina Turner, Debbie Harry, Shirley Bassey, Sandie Shaw, Brenda Lee, Doris Day and Shania Twain were all part of the show, but the masterstroke was her uncanny ability to 'be' Dusty Springfield.
In 2007, Katy entered the BBC/Endemol show The One And Only and, after reaching the final 10 as Cher and Dusty, won through to the live contest in 2008.
After six weeks of live performances, Katy beat 11 other contestants to the prize – a three-month performance contract in Las Vegas.
During the TV series mentors and coaches David and Carrie Grant said Katy's rendition of You Don't Have To Say You Love Me was the best performance of the entire series and were moved to tears (along with host Graham Norton and most of the studio audience) by her 'stunning' performance of All I See Is You.
Returning from Las Vegas, Katy recorded a compilation CD entitled You Don't Have To Say You Love Me - The Songs of Dusty and starred in her own 50-date UK theatre tour.
Since 2009, Katy has toured in her own theatre show, billed as Katy Setterfield - Dusty And Friends.
Katy Setterfield is at the Gordon Craig Theatre on Friday February 3.
